I *Heart* The 80's...

Last week, my friend Roaring Lion posted a couple of blogs about 80's music. One about some dumbass list that someone put together listing the top 10 songs of the 1980's. As a child of the 80's, I take issue with listing any Bon Jovi song in a top 10 greatest songs list of any era. Although I do love that "Wanted Dead or Alive" song... I'm totally losing any credibility here.

The other day, Lion then posted his own list of 80's greats, mainly to point out the serious oversights from the previous list. From there, I was inspired to think about my own personal top 10 list of songs from the 1980's. I'm not saying these were the best songs ever, but for me they are the songs that define the 80's. Except I couldn't narrow it down to 10. It was hard enough to get it down to 15. So here it is! In order by artist...

1. Paul Revere - Beastie Boys
2. She Sells Sanctuary - The Cult
3. Let's Go To Bed - The Cure
4. A Question of Lust - Depeche Mode
5. Save A Prayer - Duran Duran
6. Think About You - Guns N Roses
7. Could You Be The One? - Husker Du
8. Need You Tonight - INXS
9. Love Will Tear Us Apart - Joy Division
10. I Melt With You - Modern English
11. A Million Miles Away - The Plimsouls
12. I Would Die 4 U - Prince
13. It Takes Two - Rob Base & DJ E-Z Rock
14. All I Want Is You - U2
15. Kiss Off - Violent Femmes
