I love summertime for a lot of reasons. One being all of the delicious produce that is so readily available. Locally grown berries, corn, beans, melons... it is quite a treat to those of us who live in a frozen tundra for a good portion of the year. We're having a potluck lunch at the office today and I made a fruit pizza (similar to above, but mine is all berries) as my dish to pass.
Isn't it pretty? Beautiful food is almost like porn to me... just sayin'. *gazes longingly*
I'm not a huge goody but I agree that good that pleases all senses is better than food that merely tastes good.
ReplyDeleteWe're a little spoiled in CA (in many was but produce wise especially). I do love when the strawberry ladies show up around may though. I swear strawberries rule. Like sex, you put up with a lot of mediocre ones cause those good ones are SO F*CKING GOOD ;-)
